Join us at Newington Markets as we welcome the Lunar New Year with a fun-filled celebration!

Experience the colour, rhythm and excitement of a traditional Lion Dance, bringing good luck, prosperity and positive energy for the year ahead. Watch as the performers move through the centre in a vibrant cultural display not to be missed.

We’ll also have kids’ Lunar New Year craft activities, where little ones can get creative and make something special to take home.

What’s on:

  • Traditional Lion Dance performance
  • Free kids’ Lunar New Year craft activities, make a Chinese Percussion Hand Drum Kit, decorate a Chinese fan or Chinese Lantern

  • Lion dance 11.30am – Midday
  • Kids Craft 11am – 2pm
